When to Use Plasma Cutting
CNC plasma cutting is the right process when your project requires clean, repeatable cuts from digital files or drawn patterns, especially for parts with curves, holes, slots, tabs, or repeated shapes. It is fast, cost-effective for short runs, and accurate for most structural and fabrication applications up to 1 inch.
For material over 1 inch, NESF uses our CNC flame cutting table, which handles steel up to 3 inches. Many projects combine both processes, plasma for thinner components, flame for heavy plate.

What thickness can NESF's plasma table cut?
NESF's CNC plasma table handles steel up to 1 inch thick. For thicker material, up to 3 inches, we use our CNC flame cutting table. We can advise which process is the better fit for your project.
What is the maximum part size for plasma cutting?
Our plasma table is 60 inches × 120 inches. Larger parts can sometimes be cut in sections and welded together, contact us to discuss your project.
Can NESF cut from my DXF or CAD file?
Yes. We accept DXF files and can work from drawings, sketches, or dimensions. If you have an existing file, send it with your quote request.
What materials can be plasma cut?
